Mentor Walk: Inspire education. Reading Rocks!

Mentor Walk – kids' literacy

Goal: $ 5,000
Please join us to change the lives of Georgia's most vulnerable children with literacy. We are raising funds to distribute books for children. We hope that you will consider support at the following levels:

• $ 250
• $ 500

Reading proficiently by the end of third grade is a key predictor of high school graduation and career success. Yet every year, more than 80% of children from low-income families miss this crucial milestone. (Annie E. Casey Foundation)

• Half of the school achievement gap between rich and poor kids starts before kindergarten.
• One in 10 kindergarten and 1st grade students misses nearly a month of school every year.
• Low-income children lose 2-3 months of reading achievement each summer.
